Media Fellowship Program

We welcome you to a new and dynamic world of Media Fellowship Program. This initiative is being organized by Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Media University Project under the supervision of Ministry of Information & Broadcasting. This program will contribute towards building a more democratic, pluralistic and socially aware society in Pakistan. Being the first of its kind in Pakistan, this program brings under its roof, eminent scholars, media professionals and subject experts to provide a unique learning experience to the participants of this program.

The program is a much needed and innovative step towards providing enabling ground for freedom of media and freedom of speech by equipping journalists with modern techniques and learning tools. This will create opportunities for journalists from far off places to brush up their skills through regularly held short and long duration courses. With a unique teaching methodology, incorporating theoretical and practical learning through class lectures, field visits, start guest speakers, and publication of their work, the participants gain invaluable exposure in these intensive programs.

There will always be special courses as well as regular courses, where journalists from rural areas of all provinces of Pakistan including AJK and Gilgit/Baltistan shall be given preference. The first program under this project is launched for the “District Correspondents” from these rural districts of Pakistan. It will be an intensive 7-days training course on “Media & Communication for District Correspondents” starting from 15th January 2010 to 22nd of January 2010.
